Friday, June 26, 2026 (6PM-11PM)
Saturday, June 27, 2026 (6PM to 11PM)
Participants MUST COMMIT to attend all three camp days. Parents and Guardians will be able to drop off kids at 6PM and then pick them up at 11PM. Parents are welcomed to attend and stay with their child.
Class Description:
The San Ygnacio Astronomy & Space Exploration Camp is a three-night program for ages 10–16 that introduces students to astronomy, space exploration, and deep space science through hands-on activities and guided stargazing. Participants will learn how humans have used the sky throughout history, how rockets and missions help us explore space, and how telescopes reveal objects beyond our Solar System.
What participants will learn:
How the Sun, Moon, planets, and stars have guided people throughout history
Basic sky navigation, constellations, and telescope observing
How rockets work and how space missions are planned
How space telescopes help us study galaxies, nebulae, black holes, and deep space
Activities include:
Stargazing and guided night sky tours
Telescope viewing
Human Solar System model activity
Moon phases demonstration
Water bottle rocket mission launch
James Webb Space Telescope mirror model
Deep-space image and electromagnetic spectrum activity
